15 years of co-operation
A visit was made recently by two Trustee Directors of SCB to celebrate 15 years of co-operation between themselves and The Salt Company, based near Nantwich. Susan and Richard Walton were welcomed by Tracey Need, Chief Executive of The Salt Company, together with her senior management team, to mark the occasion.
The Salt Company has been a long-time supporter of SCB and has supplied work tasks since the workshop’s outset. Over the course of the association they have sought out a variety of tasks for SCB service users, including: – applying lot numbers to table salt canisters, applying batch codes to a variety of product labels, and the labelling of salt tubs, canisters, and packing boxes. Many service users view working on salt tubs, and associated items, as their favourite task and all, without exception, are able to do at least one aspect of the work associated with the tasks supplied.
As part of their visit, Susan and Richard had the opportunity to learn more about the work of The Salt Company itself and even spent a few minutes on their production line, filling the salt tubs which had been labelled and coded back at the SCB workshop!
“The support of companies such as The Salt Company is invaluable to us as a charity” said Susan “but we cannot take this for granted and have to ensure that our service users provide them with the highest quality of work”. Tracey Need, Chief Executive of The Salt Company’s parent company F. J. Need, commented that “we have been delighted by our association with SCB over the last 15 years and we would recommend them to any other businesses locally who have work that fits their capabilities”.
