Trainee Quiz Night
What a night!
Our recent Trainee Quiz Night was a fantastic success, with our trainees helping to raise an amazing £370 for SCB.
But for us, the evening was about much more than the money raised.
Thanks to grant funding from Cheshire Community Foundation, we have been able to take our ASDAN learning activities to the next level, with dedicated support from Libby, our SCB Learning Coordinator.
In the build-up to the quiz, trainees spent dedicated learning time developing the skills needed to plan, organise and deliver their own fundraising event.
On the night they took on a wide range of roles, including:
- Quiz hosts
- Scorekeepers
- Tech and IT support
- Ushers
- Refreshment stall sellers
- Photography
- Welcoming and supporting our guests
It was a brilliant example of learning being put into practice — building confidence, communication, teamwork, organisation, digital skills and independence, while giving trainees the opportunity to take real responsibility for an event they had helped create.
The evening was a real testament to the skills development opportunities offered through our ASDAN programme and the difference that this funding is helping us make.
A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported the night, and to Cheshire Community Foundation for helping us create even more opportunities for our trainees to learn, develop and achieve.
And this is only the beginning… keep an eye out, because there is plenty more to come from our learning projects over the next 12 months!
