What an incredible day!

On Tuesday we were delighted to welcome a fantastic group of supporters, partners and stakeholders to our new home at Gateway for our SCB Open Day.

The event was an opportunity to thank many of the people and organisations who have helped us make the move into our new home possible and who continue to work alongside us today.

We were delighted to welcome colleagues from the local authority, local businesses, community partners, volunteers, funders and many of the organisations who have supported this exciting new chapter for SCB.

Most importantly though, the day belonged to our trainees.

Visitors experienced first-hand what makes SCB so special. Our trainees proudly demonstrated the workplace skills they have developed, confidently guided visitors through real work tasks, delivered presentations in our Learning Hub, showcased their impressive woodworking skills and shared their own experiences of attending SCB.

It was wonderful to see so many visitors getting involved, asking questions and having a go themselves under the expert guidance of our trainees!

As we looked around our new building, it was impossible not to reflect on just how far we’ve come. Moving from Quakers Coppice to Gateway has been a huge milestone for our charity, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us along the way—whether that has been through donations, volunteering, professional expertise, partnership working or simply believing in what we do.

The feedback from our visitors was overwhelmingly positive, with many commenting on the welcoming atmosphere, the professionalism of our trainees and staff, and the genuine sense of purpose throughout the building.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the day such a success.
